❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5/5 Hearts!
Oh boy, what a fantastic ending to this duet. I utterly love Roe and Hunter. Coralee June is an amazing author. She completely ripped my heart apart, and put it back together again, all within one page, over and over again. I was not ready to say goodbye.
After looking for Hunter for 5 years, Roe finally finds him, and he wants nothing to do with her. He isn’t the same man she met all those years ago. Roe made a deal though, and only hunter is able to help her. Will one more job, or Hunter’s last confession break their already fragile relationship?
One of my favorite parts of the book was the poems Roe wrote. It added a new depth to the story, and helped convey her emotions and thoughts. Roe went through an emotional journey, but I kept rooting for her. Roe is probably one of the most relatable characters that I’ve ever read. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Hunter until the middle of the book. He kept pushing her away in the worst ways, which I understood in the end. It was still frustrating to read. I really wanted to just punch some sense into him. He had a great thing, but just kept pushing Roe away.
The plot was fast paced, and had a lot going on all at once. It’s definitely a book you need to read with no distractions. Between the emotional rollercoaster and all of the action, it was an intense story to read. The suspense had me on edge, and had my anxiety flaring. The conclusion made my heart explode, but you’ll have to read to see if that’s a good thing, or a bad thing.
You don’t have to read the Bullet series to understand this one, but I do think it would help to understand some of the dynamics in a few scenes. I’ve only read the first book in the Bullet series, but I’m thankful that I did. The world Coralee June has created is phenomenal. Some of the new characters in this book, I absolutely loved. I really hope Nicole or Luna get their own stories. I’m excited to see what else Coralee June will come up with.
