Friends With the Monsters

Friends with Monsters by Albany Walker was a unique read.

❤️❤️❤️❤️💔 4/5 hearts!

I’m such a sucker for a good cover, and this one pulled me right in. Albany built a world that was brilliantly creative, and had fantastic characters. The plot had interesting concepts that I thoroughly enjoyed. One of my favorite things about the book is that the characters aren’t the good guys I typically read about.

Demi is an unknown supernatural who eats the sins, and souls of others. Although she has isolated herself, she still attracts monsters of all kinds. She befriends most of the monsters that she meets, and takes care of them. That is until three dangerous monsters come crashing into her life, and proclaim that they’re fated mates. The monsters are the Grim Reaper, a lion shifter, and a berserker. They will, in time, show her how to open her heart.

I absolutely love what Albany created with Demi. In most RH stories, the female lead is shown naturally weaker, and expects the RH to protect her. Demi fights her own battles though, she is focused on saving others. She’s blunt, vulnerable, and has a ton of sass. Demi doesn’t trust or love her harem right away either. They have to work for her, just like any other relationship. It was an extremely raunchy read though, Demi was free and open about her sexuality (finally a supernatural MC that isn’t a virgin).

The ending was a cliffhanger, and left me with more questions then I felt like I should have had. It doesn’t state anywhere that this will be part of a series, or be followed with a sequel. I’ll be sure to stay on the lookout for one though. I definitely want more of Demi, and her men!
